Bernard Baudry is one of the great names of the Loire Valley, let alone Chinon--a region famous for it's classic bottlings of Cabernet Franc. Founded in the 1980s by Bernard (who is now retired), the domaine and it's 25 hectares of vineyard have been under the supervision of his son Mathieu since 2000. The Baudry's are 'staunch traditionlists' who's wines have always carried a rustic charm about them. 

Le Granges comes from 30-35 year old vines planted on the sandier, lower slopes of Baudry's property. A wine meant to be enjoyed (read: throw this back) in its youth with brambly berries, rose petal and silky tannins.
